Before when I was in notebook layout view, when I was indented two bullet points in and pressed enter, a new bullet is placed on the same indent as the previous line. NOw if I wanted to go back to have a bullet point at the first indent I would just press delete and it would backspace and form bullet at the first indent, but now instead it just goes back to the end of the previous line. Help please.

Hi All
I have managed to get the attention of the head if IT for the company I work for (a global engineering consultancy), regarding the companies plans to include macs as part of our IT infrastructure in the near future. We currently use windows XP on all machines connected to our network, so I figure an upgrade of the network must be coming sometime soon. At the moment there are no plans to even consider macs in the near future.
I would really like some good arguments to put to him regarding why mac's should be allowed on our company network and should form part of our IT systems.
So far I have come across articles suggesting that he should evaluate TCO, Security and downtime - But some decent studies along these lines would be good to send to him - or some applicable examples of how macs have been integrated into windows networks of greater than 2000 end clients.
Any suggestions, links or arguments that I could put to him would be great.
Thanks for the help.
Ben

I want retribution, so do most americans.
That doesn't make it right. Retribution, revenge, anger, fear etc are not good emotions. Try to overcome these basic desires.
I overheard someone on the bus say something like this-
"So Bin Laden committed an awful crime, no denying that. But in response the US imprisoned people without trial for years in Gitmo, tortured some of them for information, then shot Bin Laden when he was unarmed. They both seem pretty bad to me."
I can see where this view comes from. Many times I've heard Americans complain that Europeans "look down their noses at them" and "maybe they would understand when planes fly into some of their buildings". However, when the US response to a disaster is detention and torture what do you expect? The US has lost the moral high ground, and these human rights violations only serve to encourage more people to fight against the US.
It times of difficulty many governments bend the rules, and it is how the courts and the public respond that matters. In the UK we detained some people, but they started a court case and won. We had a report of MI6 feeding questions to Moroccan security forces to get them to get information out of someone. However, MI6 was tripping over itself to say they don't condone torture and the courts constantly ruled more information on the subject should be released.
Detention without trial and torture are the methods used by dictatorships and authoritarian regimes, and the world will always look down on the US government so long as they are used.

What was the image size? If you're wanting to get a leg up in the field for some real Photoshop work back at the office, you'll be using some big files. Especially if you start adding Layers. I doubt that these were very high rez. With 512MB ram, this is would a terrible real-world print application. Others have said this would be nice to play around with or to show off the iPad, but that's about all. I suppose you could do low-rez composites for a client, but I'd rather do that with a 15-17-inch MBP. You have a big screen, Photoshop CS5, plug in a stylus, 8GB RAM ---> that's a comp tool. IPad...? Not so much.

Doubtful since their warranty does not transfer to a second hand buyer. If I were to buy an iPod and then sell it on ebay a few weeks later the new owner would not be covered.
That is where Apple COULD screw anyone buying iPads from TJ Maxx, if they wanted to. Since TJM isn't an authorized retailer, and if they are buying from a 3rd party (who, presumably IS an authorized retailer), TJ Maxx becomes the 1st owner of the product (no different than when an individual purchases from an authorized retailer). But Apple typically honors warranties even when it's not under the original purchaser, as I know I've sold an iPod touch to a friend and he's had it warranty replaced twice already. But then again, he's always said he was me when taking it to the Genius Bar, as it pulls up my info since it's registered to me. But I doubt Apple would do any of this (invalidating the warranties) due to the bad press they'd get.

Just whilst my Mac's in for repair, I'm having to use a PC. Trying to replicate the experience though, and I have to say that GNOME Do is a fantastic piece of software, far superior to Spotlight or even Quiksilver.

It might be Apple trying to screw us up and make us want to upgrade to iphone 5. I remember I had the iphone 3G and with its latest "upgrade" my phone took a shiat bigtime. There wasnt even a way to downgrade the upgrade.
I try not to be a conspiracy theorist here, but I have noticed the same thing before as well. It was very noticeable on the 3G during the last 3.x updates! I skipped the 3GS, so I don't know how it's doing with 4.3, but my iPhone 4 is still chugging along flawlessly on 4.2.1. I think I'll keep it there for the time being (also, I'm waiting on a few more Cydia apps to be 4.3 compatible).

Why would you want to use ddr2 anyways? its slower, and more power consuming. If you have a lot, consider selling them. Or maybe build a Hackintosh with a second hand cpu with lots of ram

In addition to giving blood and/or platelets I encourage everyone to register as a stem cell donor. Nowadays stem cell donation is quick and virtually painless, and you can save the life of a desperately ill person whose illness can be eradicated with just a few vials of your life-saving stem cells.
http://www.marrow.org/JOIN/Join_Now/join_now.html
Stem cell donors are urgently needed, there is a huge shortage and long wait lists from patients who are dying. I have a complex blood plasma cancer and might need a stem cell donor at some point in the future to save my life. Please register, it only takes a few minutes. The chance you will ever actually be needed as a donor is small (you'd have to be a perfect match on many blood criteria), and if you are contacted you can still refuse, so you are not committing to anything just by signing up.
