Your definition of a "professional" app seems mighty arbitrary, even to the extent of excluding most applications that exist. Specialized databases that are designed for a specific industry wouldn't meet your definition. Computer-Aided-Machining (CAM) software (which is only useful in one industry) wouldn't meet your definition. I could go on, but I think you get my point.

But if the CAM software is a mature useful standard in those industries it is probably a very capable pro app. Like wise customized databases would not be a pro app in itself. It is know that apple has serval prototype iPhones. This is interesting at the least but seeing 3G at the top kinda sucks. We need a 4g faster device.

I am so jealous. Love some of the places people in the UK shoot at. This was well captured. The exposure looks really natural and the green is very vibrant.
Thanks for the kind words. It was my first outing with my new Canon EF 24-70 1:2.8 L lens. It's a lovely piece of glass and seems to just suck in light and colour, although I have to confess to adding a whiff of HDR in photoshop afterwards, just to boost the grass.
BTW, us Brits are equally jealous at the amazing diversity of scenery (both natural and man-made) that you enjoy in the US. As the saying goes, the grass is always greener...

That's my main concern with the next iPhone and iOS. Android has really evolved and come along way since its first iterations whereas iOS has started to become a tad bit stale, even with jailbreaking.
That is the million dollar question. What will it have, what won't it have...? No one really knows at this point; except Apple...
I suspect they're waiting for the release of Lion, then they'll start on the iOS stuff shortly after. They could be doing it in parallel. But I'm sure they don't want to sabotage their own product announcements. I mean, more people want iOS 5 than Lion, because more people own iPhones. If they announce both, then Lion will be overshadowed...IMO.

Wouldn't matter anyway if you were using a ThunderBolt external hard drive. Very few mechanical hard drives can even reach 1Gbps-2Gbps. You'll need several of the fastest SSDs in RAID to even reach ThunderBolt speeds.

Nope, I've never enabled them before on my iPad as I'm not an official Apple developer and I didn't have access to the beta release that included this feature in the past.

I can't confirm this because I already had Gestures enabled once and with every new update, it hasn't gone away. But if they are now enabled without needing XCode, then I guess enjoy because I love using these Gestures (I rarely use the Home button anymore).

Actually it is because a 2 year old iPhone is better than any Android device out there.
We all know the iPhone 4 is streets ahead of any other smartphone, but the 3GS provides a superior experience as well. It is not about spec sheets, it is about performance, software, reliability and the rest.
I agree with others that it is very telling that the 3GS outsells every single android iPhone on the market. That tells me people just buy random Androids when they go to buy a phone because they are cheaper or on deal, or if they don't have a choice to get an iPhone.
It is not like the general consumer is going "Wow this HTC magicamalcallit is so awesome. I tell all my friends to get it." or "This Samsung Soslightynotasbad is really an awesome phone and people are eating them up."
They might as well not even put labels on android phones. They are essentially a commodity compromised of a big pile of iPhone copycats with an inferior ecosystem. It almost seems like Cell Phone stores require people buying android devices to do so blindfolded.

UGh. What a mess. Waited in line for 8 hours and they are sold out. So angry right now.
Oh man, that totally sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. I know at the Spectrum they kept coming by and counting the line and I'm sure they had a pretty good idea of what quantities they had but they wouldn't tell anyone.
I was going to get a 3G but by the time I got close and 3 hours later, they were sold out. So, I went with a 64GB wifi (which is what I was originally gonna get anyway). But, at that point, you wanna walk away with something after spending your afternoon waiting in line.
I really wish they would have done pre-orders for this.

Anyone who says they would gladly pay twice as much for 256 aac than 256 mp3 is clearly brainwashed. The difference between the two at that bitrate is microscopic! At 128 kps then maybe we can talk about differences, but not 256. Amazon wins this battle.
And yes, I'd prefer to just buy the cd myself and rip it into whatever bitrate and codec I wanted (preferrably lossless).
